Fertilizers

High internal and regional demand driven by agricultural vocation

As one of the largest producers of rice, corn, wheat and tobacco, the internal demand for fertilizers in Rio Grande do Sul is high, being the second state that purchases the most imported fertilizers. Increasing state production can reduce production costs and susceptibility to exchange rate variations.

Need to increase productivity for productive expansion

Increasing production capacity is a fundamental instrument for expanding agricultural production in a scenario of low land availability and increased global demands. Regional and national average agricultural productivity is still below productive potential, which can be attributed, in part, to the lack of nutrients in the soil.

Existing production infrastructure

Rio Grande do Sul has 155 active records of fertilizer producing establishments, two of which operate in the production of phosphate fertilizers and one under construction for mining and manufacturing phosphate fertilizer.
