Invest RS begins the year 2025 with another movement in its international operating strategy. The director of Investment Attraction and Trade Promotion, Fabricio Forest, embarked on Sunday (5/1) towards India, where he joins the business mission organized by the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedec), focused on the food sector. The objective is to participate in Indusfood, one of the main food and beverage fairs in Asia, which takes place between January 8th and 10th in New Delhi.

During the event, the Rio Grande do Sul delegation’s strategy is to publicize the production of wines, sparkling wines, grape and apple juices to promote the internationalization of these items, placing them on the Asian market. In addition to Sedec and Invest RS, the group includes the departments of Tourism, which will promote Gaucho wine tourism, and Agriculture, Livestock, Sustainable Production and Irrigation, which will present olive oil and yerba mate produced in the State. Representatives from the companies Suvalan, Aurora, Tecnovin, Casa Valduga, as well as the Brazilian Winemaking Union (Uvibra), the Brazilian Association of Apple Producers (ABPM) and the Gaúcha De Vinicultores Association (Agavi), are attending the event.

The opportunity to negotiate with exhibitors and participate in Indusfood arose during the State’s official mission to India, in November last year, coordinated by deputy governor Gabriel Souza. “Invest RS’s participation in Indusfood in India is strategic to strengthen Rio Grande do Sul’s presence in the international market and attract new business. It reinforces the continuity of the mission led by the deputy governor in November 2024 for the same country”, explains the president of Invest RS, Rafael Prikladnicki.

Representative of Invest RS in the itinerary, Fabricio Forest highlights the possibility of opening markets for companies from Rio Grande do Sul in important sectors of the economy. “We embark with a lot of enthusiasm and expectation so that we can help Rio Grande do Sul companies to do good business in that market that has a huge potential demand for Rio Grande do Sul food products. In this mission, we have good expectations, especially for the wine sector”, says Forest.

Created with the aim of starting a new stage in the development of Rio Grande do Sul, Invest RS inaugurated its commercial promotion and investment attraction activities by participating in the Rio Grande do Sul government’s mission to Japan and China, between the 18th and 27th of November 2024. The trip to India is the second movement in this direction.
