Between June 22nd and 27th, Invest RS will participate in a series of events in London focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and deep tech. This is the first of three 2025 missions that will be co-organized with Instituto Caldeira, an innovation and business hub located in Porto Alegre. In addition to London, the teams will also travel to Silicon Valley in August and to China in October.
The program includes technical visits to AI and deep tech companies, such as IBM Quantum, Oracle, East X Ventures, Ascension, Opus, UCL Biology Lab, Seedlegals, Novabook, Oxford Tech Park, Cohere, Teya/SaltPay, Starman AI and Innovate UK, as well as meetings with specialized investors and executives from venture capital funds. Masterclasses with researchers from Oxford and Cambridge will also be held, as well as moments of integration between the members of the delegation and leaders of the local ecosystem.
For the president of Invest RS, Rafael Prikladnicki, the partnership with Instituto Caldeira meets two strategic objectives of the development agency. “Firstly, it places our agency in a collaborative environment, something we strongly believe in as a driving force behind our strategy of generating opportunities. Secondly, the planned itinerary is a unique opportunity to put companies from Rio Grande do Sul in relevant and differentiated contact with reference locations in the world”, explains Prikladnicki.
The British capital was chosen because it is one of the epicenters of technology in Europe and because it concentrates some of the world’s leading companies, universities and research centers. London is part of the so-called “Golden Triangle”, with Oxford and Cambridge, forming one of the most robust talent pipelines.
The mission’s proposal is to offer a five-day immersion in technologies that are reshaping the global economy, such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and automation. “International Missions are one of the most powerful ways to generate applied knowledge, internationalize the strategic vision of our leaders and put Brazil in direct dialogue with the technological vanguards”, says the executive director of Instituto Caldeira, Pedro Valério.
Invest RS will be represented by the director of Intelligence and Strategy, Caroline Bücker. The agendas were designed with a curation that combines content, immersion in relevant ecosystems and the promotion of connections for business.
