Rio Grande do Sul is home to companies in all segments of the petrochemical chain: basic industries, resin industries, companies transforming resins into plastic material and rubber products, and recycling of plastic products, ensuring synergy in the chain.
Specialized labor
The state has highly specialized researchers and professionals, formed by a wide network of universities, institutes and technical schools present, highlighting the Polymer Transformation Center (Cetepo), in São Leopoldo, which develops applied research projects, innovation and provides metrological and technological consultancy services for the sector.
Innovation hub
The Petrochemical Hub has three innovation centers that stand out in Latin America: the Innovation & Technology Center formed by 14 laboratories and 7 pilot plants; the Styrenics Technology Center (CTE) with 4 resin innovation and improvement laboratories; and Polo Films, formed by a physical and chemical testing laboratory focused on quality, new applications and development of bi-oriented polypropylene films.
